Personal, Social and Health Education is delivered to our students throughout Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. One timetabled period is dedicated to this subject each week for half of each term. This subject is delivered by a team of teachers.
The sessions are based on key topics within PSHE. To further enhance our students’ learning and understanding we involve outside agencies, who cover topics such as relationships education, financial capability…. Guest visitors also deliver assemblies on topics such as careers, drugs, cyber bullying and road safety.
Whenever possible, we invite theatre groups who perform on topics that are part of the PSHE curriculum.
Our school nurse is also involved in the delivery of our PSHE curriculum and holds a drop in clinic each week.
There is no formal examination in PSHE. Our students keep their work in a folder and fill in an assessment form at the end of each PSHE half term.
