In September 2013 St George will once again open its doors to girls as well as boys. This will see the college return to its roots as a co-educational Catholic school, as it was when it opened in 1958. This development has been brought about by parents keen for their children to be educated together, and we are privileged to be the only faith-based secondary school in the city to offer a free education to both boys and girls.
We are working hard to make our transition to a mixed college as smooth as possible, and have already started working with girls in our feeder schools to gather their views and opinions. Our student council has started planning how the school can adapt to welcome girls, and building works are under way to improve the environment for everyone.
